A fourth win from four games for Bath sets up a showdown with Taunton on 1/2 September for the Division 2 title. Ahead 2-1 at lunch after Roger Hayes came from behind to win his game and John Grimshaw and Richard Jelly won the doubles with some careful tactical play. Roger won his afternoon game against a better ranked player, 26-1 and a rare triple peel. John came from 16 hoops down to win 26-18 and clinch the match. Richard and Paul Francis both lost narrowly to better ranked opponents.
