Parkstone Team turn tables on Nailsea

July 1st 2019

After losing at home to Nailsea 2-3 last weekend in the Parkstone Trophy, Bath travelled for the return fixture on Saturday and exacted revenge with a 5-0 victory. The team was Roger Hayes, John Grimshaw and Philip de Glanville.
Roger had some initial difficulty with the hoops in the morning, but ultimately both he and the doubles team won comfortably to establish a 2-0 lead at lunch time.
In the afternoon games, Roger’s opponent quickly established a useful lead, but once Roger got the innings, there was only one winner. John had a scrappy game, but had the better of the play until he missed the peg-out, but his opponent could not make any serious inroads into his lead and eventually ran out of time. Philip soon had a substantial lead, but his opponent crept back and things were tense for a while, before Philip got going again and won comfortably in the end.
