Autumn Salver Victory for Scottish Visitor

September 6th 2006

Bath Croquet Club’s Autumn Salver weekend (2nd and 3rd September) was once again a great success. Fourteen players from all over the country competed on the Recreation Ground over the two-day event.

Tony Whateley, who had actually travelled the furthest, from Glasgow, emerged victorious with 6 wins out of 6.

In doing so, his handicap was reduced from 14 to 12 and he also won a Croquet Association Bronze Award.

Along the way he defeated local Bath hopefuls Ian Lewis, Andrew Willis and Roger Bell, who all won 4 out of 6.

Willis was also awarded his Croquet Association Bronze Award for completing a break of 10 consecutive hoops with bisques.
