Fundraising

Dear Members

As you will know, work was undertaken to level and improve Lawn 4. The Committee are keen to continue to enhance the Club’s lawns and facilities for members and the improvement of Lawns 3 and 4 is an important part of that.

We were extremely pleased to receive a grant from the Croquet Association for almost 50% of the cost of the Lawn 4 work. The Club is able to make up the balance of the cost from its funds however the Committee felt that it would be appropriate to allow members to make a small personal contribution to the project, which cost around £10,000 in total.

To help raise funds, the Committee invited members to sponsor a small part of the new Lawn 4. The lawn was divided into 180 squares (12 x 15) and members were able to sponsor a square for £10. With the additional benefit of Gift Aid, this could allow the Club to raise over £2,000, which would be a significant contribution towards the project.

Sponsors’ names will be added to a large illustration of the lawn, which will be framed and displayed in the Clubhouse for posterity.

Members have been very generous and we received sponsors for all the squares. Thanks to all those who contributed financially and to those who supported physically in the development of lawn 4.
