GC Progressive Doubles

August 8th 2016

16 members including several beginners from this year, enjoyed a progressive doubles GC tournament on 25 July.

After four rounds of games, Peter Machin was a clear leader in the lower handicap half of the tournament whilst Alistair Byford-Bates in the higher handicap half was making an impressive start in his very first tournament.
However the fast improving Philip de Glanville was matched in the final game with Peter on the opposite team and Philip and his partner stormed to a comfortable win. This result meant that Philip’s average points score per game was the highest.
Meanwhile, Karen Byford-Bates was clearly determined to beat Alistair and just managed to sneak ahead of him in the final game to secure an average of 7 1/3 versus Alistair’s 7 1/4.
