Success at Hamptworth GC Level Play Tournament

The Club had three competitors( Norman Connor, Elaine Morrison and Ian Morrison) in the final Golf Croquet Tournament of the winter at Hamptworth last weekend. This was a level play tournament with the field split into two based on their handicaps. In the higher handicap section Norman Connor won all three of his morning matches to be top seed for the afternoon session. In the quarter final he beat Elaine 7-2. He followed this up by winning his semi-final against George Bayliss 7-6 and the final against Richard Jenkins of Hamptworth 7-3 to win his section and a bottle of Cava. Meanwhile Ian was finding the going tougher in the top half against low handicap players and finally finished in 8th place in his section.
