Second Win for GC Handicap NE Team

The GC NE division team played Weston Super Mare at home on Thursday 16 May. The team of Miriam Bolger, Pam Burgoyne, Pete Riley, Gordon Cottis, Timothy Cantell and Tony Curson started off very strongly and at one stage had a 8-1 lead. At lunch the score was 9-3 with all members contributing to the total. Particular mention should be made of Timothy on his GC team debut with two doubles wins, with Gordon and Pete, and a 7-2 singles win. Weston however fought back strongly after lunch and gradually pegged back the lead. However two singles wins by Tony saw the team win 11.5 – 8.5.
