Croquet is Thriving in Bath

The main croquet season finished at the end of October but over 40 members have signed up for winter play. GC and AC Club days continue during the winter season for these members.
An Open Day and Beginners courses will again be held in Spring 2019, details to be announced.

Secretary’s Shield Semi-Final

Bath have been knocked out in the semi-final of the Secretary’s Shield by a team from Sheffield who were last year’s winners. The match took place at Kenilworth, where Adrian Morris was a most obliging and hospitable host. GC Progressive Doubles

September 12th 2018

Sixteen club members took part in the GC Progressive Doubles tournament on September 6th. The field was split into lower and higher handicap groups, the split being very high due to the lack of any low handicap players. The low handicap section was won by Sue Andrew (10 points), with 4 wins and 2 draws

Daniel Gott wins British Universities AC Championships

Daniel won the British Universities AC Championships at Oxford on 2 September, beating Mark van Loom of Oxford in the final.

GC Doubles Tournament

Sixteen club members took part in the GC Doubles tournament managed by Paul Francis. To discourage defensive play the scoring system accounted for hoops scored as well as wins. Success for GC North team in their final match of season

The clubs GC Handicap North team entertained Beckford on Monday in their last league match of the season. The match was a tight affair, with Bath two ahead, until mid afternoon when the Bath team stretched away to a 13-7 success with 6 wins out of 8 in the last two rounds of singles matches.
